Straight answers
Do I really not have to take a state exam?
Correct — for the Georgia Limited Subagent license, no state examination is required. You do have to complete an approved pre-licensing course, be sponsored by a licensed Georgia resident agent, and meet the application requirements.
How long is the course?
The required Georgia-approved limited sub-agent online course is 8 hours. You can complete it from home.
Do I have to sell insurance?
Your role in our program is to Meet, Greet & Refer — you connect with people who are 65 or older (or turning 65) and may need help with a Medicare plan, and Smart Flex Agency helps from there.
What plans does Smart Flex Agency offer?
Our focus is Medicare plans for people 65 and older: Medicare Advantage (Part C), an all-in-one alternative to Original Medicare, and Medicare Supplement (Medigap), which works alongside Original Medicare to help pay your share of costs. We don’t offer other types of insurance through this program.
What does “sponsorship” mean?
Georgia requires a limited subagent to work under a licensed Georgia resident agent or agency. Smart Flex Agency can help provide that sponsorship.
How do I get paid?
You can earn commissions on eligible referrals and insurance business, subject to program terms. Commissions depend on the business written, and results vary — income is not guaranteed.
Is this a job?
No. This is an independent opportunity, not employment. You decide how much time to put in.
Who is eligible?
Eligibility is determined by the Georgia Department of Insurance and our program terms. Common requirements include being of legal age, qualifying for a Georgia license, and passing a background check. Book a call and we’ll tell you where you stand.
What does it cost to get started?
The course, state application fees and fingerprinting are typically paid by the applicant. Contact us for current amounts and program terms.
